Judy M. Miller Just over a decade ago I took my husband's advice and began my writing career. It was in my first writing classes that I came across Story Circle Network. I was drawn to the idea of women nurturing women in their quest to write and share their stories. I joined SCN soon after and volunteered to become one of the SCBR editors.

Since I'm a parent educator and coach focusing on adoption my writing niche is adoptive parenting, special needs, and tweens and teens. To date I've had hundreds of articles and essays published in parenting, adoption magazines, and anthologies like Chicken Soup for the Soul: Dreams & Premonitions, A Cup of Comfort for Adoptive Families: Stories That Celebrate a Special Gift of Love, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks Mom, and Pieces of Me: Who Do I Want to Be?

My expertise is frequently quoted in publications like TODAY.com, Parenting, and The Open-Hearted Way to Open Adoption. I'm a contributor for Parenting Squad and also make guest appearances on radio programs that cover adoption topics and issues. I present and facilitate workshops at conferences, like North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) and American Adoption Conference (AAC). I presented at Stories from the Heart V and VI, and VI.

I co-produce and direct Listen To Your Mother Indianapolis, an annual story-telling event that is part of a national movement to give motherhood the microphone.

I am the author of the internationally known parent guide, What To Expect From Your Adopted Tween, and a workbook for adopted adults, Writing to Heal Adoption Grief: Moving Forward & Making Connections. I also created and teach the popular class, Parenting Tweens, Tweens & Beyond, which I am currently revamping into a video class.

I live with my husband, four kids—ages 13 through 22, two Newfies, and two boy-kitties on seven acres of solitude in the Midwest. My "shingle" is Parenting Your Adopted Child: Tweens, Teens & Beyond, and my Twitter handle is @MamaMiller. Visit my site.
